Live And Let Live Online
Right after college I was one of those girls who found my path in life right away. To be honest, I didn’t really choose it. It kind of just happened. I didn’t know what to do in life, got a job as a casino dealer at the local casino in town, and I am happy to say I’ve never looked backed since.
Working at a casino is certainly something different. It’s a special thing, really. Being extroverted myself, I kind of hit it off with my new job from day one. I got to spend my days and nights playing casual games with regulars in a way that reminded me of my old canasta sessions with my maternal grandpa. It wasn’t too much about the game itself, or who won or lost. It was about entertainment and spending quality time together. For even when not much was said, the beauty of the interaction laid in the silence. If anyone should deserve to live forever it’d grandpa. He’s no longer with us, yet he taught me the perhaps most important lessons in life – and without knowing it.
At 28 I moved abroad. Love, that old story. And no, don’t ask … Having, at that point, become quite experienced within the live casino field, it was a pretty natural step for me to try for a casino job. The problem, however, quickly surfaced.
